HARARE, Zimbabwe, Sept 20, 2014 (Zimbabwe Independent) -- The sly involvement of Russian defence conglomerate, Rostec State Corporation and its Supervisory Board Chairperson, Denis Manturov, also Kremlin Minister of Trade and Industry, in the cumulative $4,8 billion platinum project between Zimbabwean entities and a consortium of Russian investors has reinforced reports of a secret arms deal hidden behind the arrangement.

Russia Mulls More Deals With Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe: Zim, Russia Ink Massive Deals

HARARE, Zimbabwe, Sept 16, 2014 (The Herald) -- The economy got a major boost following the signing of several trade and investment deals between the Government and the visiting high-powered Russian delegation in Harare, ahead of the commissioning of a $1 billion Integrated Platinum Group Metals Project in Darwendale.


Highly-respected international diplomat, Russian foreign minister Mr Sergey Lavrov is expected in Harare to commission the project which has been dubbed the biggest in Zimbabwe, and among the biggest mining ventures in the world.

SADC - a Shared Regional Community
