Africa: 'Boom Time in Africa' Says Private Equity Leader At Franco-African Foundation Launch

PARIS, France, August 15, 2014 (RFI) -- Entrepreneurs and financiers gathered in Paris for the launch of the Franco-African Foundation for Growth. The initiative aims to re-energise links between private sector African and French businesses.
French Finance Minister Michel Sapin said that African countries were being courted by several interested parties, China in particular, who are looking to be the first to meet the demand of a growing African middle class. RFI spoke to Lionel Zinsou, head of PAI Partners, one of France's biggest private equity companies, and a leading member of the Franco-African Foundation for Growth.

Africa: Fact Sheet - Trade Africa
WASHINGTON, August 15, 2014 (State Dept) -- U.S. President Barak Obama has announced the launch of Trade Africa, a new partnership between the United States and sub-Saharan Africa that seeks to increase internal and regional trade within Africa, and expand trade and economic ties between Africa, the United States, and other global markets.

WASHINGTON, August 15, 2014 (NBCC) -- Finally, President Obama extended an invitation to African nations to participate in a Summit. It was rather short but yet it was a summit. He invited 52 of the 54 nations – omitting Sudan and Zimbabwe which he declares as being wicked.
