MOSCOW, February 21 (MN) - Migration rules are getting tighter for foreigners who work in Russia. The new law, effective from 2012, will screen all foreigners for fingerprints who apply for a work permit.

ACCRA, Ghana, Feb. 19 (GNA) - The European Union (EU) has released 28 million Ghana cedis to support a project that seeks to promote bamboo as a new source of energy in Ghana and Ethiopia. The project dubbed: "Bamboo as a Sustainable Biomass Energy: A suitable Alternative for Charcoal and Firewood Production in Africa," aim’s at increasing the use of bamboo as a source of energy for the poor while providing a more sustainable, environmental friendly and economical option to firewood and charcoal.

KAMPALA, Uganda, February 18 (Business Week) — Russian, Chinese, French, Italian, Indian and other oil companies are among firms that have already expressed interest in investing in Uganda's oil reserves estimated at 2 billion barrels to date. A press statement from the State House recently said President Yoweri Museveni had met a delegation from Tullow Plc, led by Mr. Paul McDade, the Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Elly Karuhanga, the president of Tullow Uganda.
